.: Houston, we have a problem :.
Song || Drops of Jupiter covered by Boyce Avenue
-------------------------------------------------------------

Today, in 1970, was the day that the ill-fated Apollo 13 spacecraft returned to Earth safely. I've always been fascinated by the flight of Apollo 13 and how the crew members and the people on the control panels worked together to get those three men back to Earth safely after an oxygen tank exploded two days into the flight. Apollo 13 was meant to be the third flight to go to the moon, unfortunately, it never got there and the men sadly never got to walk on the moon.

The top two images are the actors from the movie 'Apollo 13' but the bottom image is the actual crew of the spacecraft.

My dad said he remembers watching it on TV. He's a NASA freak. I remember when we took him to the Space Kennedy Centre in Florida, he was in his zone right there!
.: RMS Titanic - The Ship of Dreams :.
Song || Southampton - James Horner (from the Titanic Soundtrack)
----------------------------------------------------------------
One hundred years since the ships sinking, the Titanic disaster and those who lost their lives that night still live within our hearts. The story of the Titanic is one that will always be told.

One of my favourite stories from that night is the story and the fate of Isador and Ida Straus. They were an elderly couple in 1st class (Isador was a co-founder of Macy's department store in the USA) and they were both offered a place in a lifeboat. However, Isador said that whilst their were still many women, children and younger men on the ship, he would stay until they were safe. Ida then refused to get on the boat also. She said that she'd been with her husband for many years now and they'd share the same fate together - live or die.
Unfortunately, this story does not have a happy ending and Isador and Ida didn't make it through the night. They wanted to wait until all the younger lives were safe first before they saved themselves, including those in steerage. Just goes to show that not all of the upper class were as obnoxious as they are potrayed in many films and documentaries about the event.
In the movie, Isador and Ida are only seen in the movie for a very short clip and their story is never told in the movie. When the water is rushing into the cabins, they are the elderly couple lying in the bed. However, I don't know how accurate this is to their death. Maybe that is the way they died, maybe it isn't. But one thing is for sure, witness reports from that night said they died together.

Composition: 'Ruined Crop, And Going To War' composed by the legendary John Williams
-----------------------------------------------------------------
I cannot express how wonderful this movie is. It truly is a beautiful story. Steven Spielberg knows how to make a good movie which you can both laugh and cry at.
Jeremy Irvine was amazing too, considering this was his first ever movie, he has a enormous amount of talent. You can tell he's going to be big in the movie world.
And then of course, there's John Williams score for the movie which is just spectacular - as his scores always are <3
-----------------------------------------------------------------
I suggest if you haven't seen this movie yet, that you go and see it. Even if you don't like dramas or historical movies, you will still love this movie

I love this guy, he's such a beautiful musician and this song brings a tear to my eye. It's sad to think that we live in a world where if you're not a size zero, you're classed as obese.

.: Life's more painless, for the brainless :.
Song || Dancing Through Life performed by Norbet Leo Butz (from the Original Wicked Soundtrack)
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Glinda(Talking about Fiyero): “He’s been thinking, which really, really worries me.
It all started that day Doctor Dillamond got fired. I never knew how much he cared about that old goat. Look here he is. He has come.”

Fiyero: “Elphaba. I’m so happy for you”

Glinda: “Yes we are both so happy for you.”

Fiyero: “Ah, listen I’ve been thinking”

Elphaba: “Yes…I’ve heard. “
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And the classic:

Fiyero: “Let the green girl go”

Everyone loves that line <3
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Currently playing Fiyero in the West End is Matt Willis and that’s the main reason why I have to see Wicked again next year – because I’m huge Busted fan and a huge Wicked fan and right now they’ve been fused together. Awesome!
I saw Busted on their tour in 2004 and it was also my first concert. I was eight and now I’ve realised I shouldn’t have really liked them being eight but at that age I didn’t understand most of the lyrics haha. It may have been so long ago now, but I still remember it vividly and being able to see Matt in Wicked would just be amazing! I just need to find out what shows he won’t be doing and then I’m set. I also want to see Rachel Tucker again and the new Glinda, Gina Beck.

“He said I’ve been to the year 3000, no much has changed but they lived underwater!” – Classic Busted ♥

.: Happy is what happens, when all your dreams come true :.
Song || I’m Not That Girl (Reprise) performed by Kristen Chenoweth (from the Original Wicked Soundtrack)
----------------------------------------------------------------------
“I don't understand why you can't just teach us history instead of always harping on the past.” – Glinda in a history class.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
For some reason, I always love the part of the show when Glinda sings "I'm Not That Girl (reprise)" because I think it's her sudden realisation that her world is not perfect and she's just got to accept that. I also start to feel sorry for her which is something I don't feel for her throughout the sho until this point.

I’m quite excited to go and see Gina Beck next year, I’ve never seen her before but I’m sure she great – she’d have to be to have been casted as Glinda in Wicked and she does look very beautiful in that costume above.
I love all the characters in Wicked, but I have to say, Glinda’s lines are the ones that make me laugh the most. They’re just so randomly placed in odd situations – I love it!

.: Somethings I'll never change, but 'til I try I'll never know :.
Song || No Good Deed performed by Idina Menzel (from the Original Wicked Soundtrack)
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Elphaba: "You're still beautiful...it's not lying, it's looking at things another way."
- One of my favourite lines from the show because it's saying that looks don't matter.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I saw this musical in October at the Apollo Victoria in the West End and I have to say that Rachel Tucker was amazing! I’ve had the Wicked Soundtrack since 08 so I knew all the lyrics and everything and I never thought that someone could sound better than Idina Menzel in the role, but Rachel Tucker obviously can. I adore her. She’s the definition of ‘walking talent’. I’m going back to see her in the role sometime next year and I’m sure she’ll be even better by then. She probably improves every show.

Elphaba is probably my favourite character and definately the most inspirational. She fights for what she thinks is right despite what other people may think of her. The hatred that she's recieved from people is, in my opinion, the main reason why she's so rebellious but it must be hard for her with no one showing kindness to her apart from Doctor Dillamond and after him just Glinda and then Fiyero. I don't think she'd wicked, just misunderstood :)

WICKED FACT ♥
(It’s about Elphaba, obviously…)

The author of the book Wicked, Gregory Maguire, came up with the name ‘Elphaba’ from the initials of L. Frank Baum – the author of the original Wizard of Oz book. The name was sort of a dedication to the original author who came up with the initial idea of the whole world of Oz.

Anyway, Harry Judd and Aliona Vilani only just freakin' went and won Strictly Come Dancing! So proud of him right now. And the best thing about it was that he was actually so good, I would have wanted him to win even if I wasn't a McFly fan. His fantastic dancing skills was something I never expected...especially after seeing his first rehersal tape.
I think if Chelsee and Pasha had won, I would have been happy as well because it was a very both call and both couples were great and both very humble when it came to the judges praise. Harry and Chelsee both looked extremely overly nervous when the voting came. I thought Chelsee was going to be sick and I thought Harry was going to soil his pants :)

Congratulations to both Aliona and Harry.
